INNOVATIONS FOR LIGHTWEIGHT- CONSTRUCTION SECTOR
Composites have become practically indispensable in lightweight design, but there are still major challenges with respect to their large series production. That is why an interdisciplinary team at Evonik has spent three years working on, and coming up with, viable and compelling solutions. The specialty-chemicals company presented the results of this development work.
Since the establishment of a project house in 2013 in which expertise from various operative units throughout the Group was converged under one roof, the strategic innovation unit, Creavis, has considerably intensified research and development activities on composites.
“We have committed and also further expanded our existing expertise along the entire value chain to numerous projects in this field,” says Dr. Sandra Reemers, head of the Composites Project House. Those projects have seen the company make good progress, most notably on the development of new material-system solutions and more efficient manufacturing processes.

Questo è il motivo per cui un team interdisciplinare di Evonik ha speso tre anni di lavoro per creare soluzioni idonee e interessanti. L’azienda, produttrice di prodotti chimici di specialità, ha presentato i risultati di questa attività di sviluppo.
Dalla fondazione nel 2013, di un istituto dedicato al progetto, in cui l’esperienza di diverse unità operative del gruppo ha trovato una base comune di confronto, l’unità dedicata all’innovazione strategica Creavis, ha intensificato in modo considerevole le attività di ricerca e sviluppo nel campo dei compositi.
“Ci siamo impegnati per accrescere la nostra già consolidata esperienza per tutta la catena di valore e per dare vita a numerosi progetti in questo campo”, ha affermato il Dr. Sandra Reemers, dirigente della Composites Project House. Questi progetti hanno dato prova degli effettivi progressi conseguiti dalla società, in particolare in merito allo sviluppo di nuove soluzioni sui materiali e ad efficienti processi produttivi.
